The Cause & Effect Gospel

The Gospel of Jesus cannot be about cause and effect. It has to be about pleasing Him regardless of what He does. Many times in Christian principle we use the Greek mindset of cause and effect to prove the power of the gospel.

Instead of tithing to please God, we tithe to get a return. Instead of believing God because He asks us to, we believe Him for the outcome.

So what happens when we believe and it doesn’t turn out the way we wanted it to? What happens when we tithe and our finances don’t change?

Our faith is in Christ because He is who He says He is, not because of what He produces. If you follow the cause and effect gospel I guarantee your faith will be shaken.

I believe Bob Jones says it best, “God is not a gum ball machine.”

You’re Still Lieutenant Dan

In the movie Forrest Gump, Lieutenant Dan is almost killed in battle and loses his legs. Forrest Gump saves his life, but he becomes dely depressed.

One night in the hospital, Lieu. Dan snapped at Gump for saving his life because he thought he should have died on the battlefield.

Dan shouted that he was not Lieu. Dan anymore because he lost his legs and his dignity. Gump in his usual answer said to him, “You’re still Lieutenant Dan.”

Just because you’re legs might have been cut off, wounds have come your way, or life has taken you out, you’re still who God made you.

Your circumstances don’t define who you are.

Your situation doesn’t define who you are.

God defines who you are.

You’re still Lieutenant Dan.

Hope Because of Choice

We have hope because we have a choice. The death and ressurection of Christ Jesus gave us both hope and a choice. Without his sacrifice we wouldnt have either. So because we have a choice, we have hope and because we have hope we recognize that we have a choice.

Hope in Him and receive your choice. You are more than an overcomer because you have the choice that leads to hope.

Take it and run into Daddys arms.

Do You Have Enough???

Do you have enough? Funny question sometimes? We get asked this at the dinner table: do you have enough bread? Or, sitting on the couch with someone, do you have enough room? And, for most of us everyday, do we have enough time?

What is enough? How do we know when we have enough of something? .

 

Let us know how you determine when you have enough of something? Say, when you you order a meal. How much food is enough? When you save , what is enough?

When you study for an exam, how do you know when you have studied enough? You get the idea. Pick your idea and tell us.

Your thoughts will help us know if we have “enough” understanding of how much is enough. Smile.

Gaining Wealth Apart From God

Riches and wealth are an establishment of the ; the .  They are meant to produce a , hence riches gained apart from the Lord produce .

If there is no acknowlegement of the Lord and people are in awe, they idolize you and your wealth as opposed to the Lord.

God In the Small…God In the Big

When we look at God’s security and we tend to look to the many times He didn’t rescue us or come through the way we wanted Him to. It’s easier to blame Him than ourselves or the world.  What we fail to do is look at how much He has provided i the meantime.  You have to realize that God has provided much more than you give Him credit for…even if you live in with absolutely nothing.

Unless it’s a miracle, we tend to say that our provision came from our job, , business, etc., instead of by the hand of God.  We only seem to give Him credit if we had no way of doing it in the natural, therefore, it had to be a miracle.

So if we and look at the lack of provision, we tend to overly blame ourselves for not doing enough of the right things or we blame God for not coming through the way we want Him to.  All the while gets a free pass to keep us in darkness and blind from her reality and the she operates under.

Therefore, we have to change our thinking that in reality (’s ), God is consistently coming through for us.  When He doesn’t tangibly produce what we hoped for, we must know that He is up to a much bigger plan and His grace is still being supplied.

What are the in your life?  How did you get your job?  How did you get your education?  Focus on the consistent supply of miracles and you will begin to see His hand of provision in your life, continually.

Your Past Is Not Your Future

By taking the past into the present and future we are giving into the and giving authority to control our present and future. Just because it happened in the past, does not mean it will happen in the present and the future.

Moreover, if our past has been sanctified, then our present and future will be sanctified. We need not fear patterns repeating themselves because we have been empowered to overcome them.

We’re Starting A Movement

Starting a movement is not the easiest thing to do.  Sure, books have been written on the subject, such as or Tribes by .

But, it’s not that simple.  It’s much easier to identify how a brand was hijacked or a movement started and write in hindsight than it is to move forward with something new that has never been done before.

HeavensEconomy.com is doing that.  We are attempting to start a movement focused on the fact that God is More Than Enough.  That He is , not just .  Our desire to make our God famous.

Judging Financial Success

It’s quite possible that I’m the only person who has ever strugged with this, but have you ever thought:

“God must really love Bill and Suzy.  I mean they are so blessed!  They’ve got great jobs, live in a nice house and drive great cars.  God must not really like me or trust me.  That’s probably why I’m always broke.”

You may not have said this, but have you ever had those thoughts or agreements?

The Financial Judge

We tend to confuse how much God loves us or is in approval of us based upon how much He blesses us.  Looking at our more “well off” neighbors, we think that God must approve of them and that’s why they make more , have more stuff, etc.

We think that because wealth isn’t flowing to us then God is saying God doesn’t love us.

What if He wants us to find our identity in Him?  What if He really wants your heart above anything that you can do for Him or give Him?

“We must not judge financial success by how much a man has, but by how much God has of him.“
